Still Dark Festival returns to Yellowknife’s downtown on January 27-31, 2027, featuring 19+ and all-ages concerts, events and workshops.
“We want to thank all the sponsors, volunteers, acts, and patrons who made our first two years a success,” said a news release announcing the third iteration of the festival.
“We can’t wait to show what we have brewing for our third year!”
Twenty VIP and 40 general weekend passes tickets are on sale with early bird pricing until September 1 or when they sell out, the news release said.
Both ticket options grant access to participating festival venues, but the VIP pass allows holders to jump to the front of the line and comes with a festival t-shirt and swag bag.

Ticket holders must be at least 19 years old by January 27, 2027.
“By activating Yellowknife’s arts and culture scene during the long winter, we hope to strengthen the arts sector, support and activate the downtown during a challenging time of year, provide a value-added experience for visitors, and most importantly, follow the Northern tradition of making our own fun to help each other survive the long, dark winters,” the news release said.
The festival was nominated for a BreakOut West impact in live music award, about which Still Dark artistic director Taylor Shephard said the festival was “stoked.”
“It really just reaffirms for us at least that the work the festival is doing within the past two years is pretty relevant, not just in a local context but also on a more national level,” said Shephard.
