Tłı̨chǫ Government appoints new executive officer

Jason Snaggs is the new Tłı̨chǫ executive officer – the Tłı̨chǫ Government’s top bureaucrat – the organization said on Friday.

Snaggs was formerly chief executive officer of the Yellowknives Dene First Nation. He replaces Laura Duncan.

The Tłı̨chǫ Government described the role as “leading the administration and helping to implement the priorities and decisions” of elected leaders.

In a statement, Tłı̨chǫ Grand Chief Jackson Lafferty thanked Duncan – who has had multiple stints in the Tłı̨chǫ executive officer’s job – “for the continuity she provided during an important period for our government.”
