Yellowknife’s candidates for mayor, Garett Cochrane and Melissa Syer, will make their pitch to voters in a 90-minute Cabin Radio live broadcast on Monday, October 5.
Hosted by Cabin Radio editor Ollie Williams, the show will take place from 7-8:30pm in front of a live studio audience inside City Hall’s council chambers.
The broadcast is being held in partnership with a range of Yellowknife organizations. You can sign up for free to join the studio audience on the Yellowknife Chamber of Commerce website (advance registration is required to attend).
Alongside the chamber, broadcast partners include the Northern Mosaic Network, NWT Seniors’ Society, Yellowknife Women’s Society, YWCA NWT and Alternatives North.

Make sure your question gets to the point (they need to be short so we can fit plenty of them into the show) and is addressed to both candidates, giving each one a fair opportunity to answer.
The broadcast will be available live on Cabin Radio – listen live online or get the Cabin Radio app – and via Cabin Radio’s Facebook page. You’ll be able to watch or listen on demand once the broadcast is over.
Beyond the mayoral race, Cabin Radio will separately interview each council candidate, while the partner organizations will publish the results of a questionnaire sent to all candidates.
