Canadian lingerie and swimwear retailer La Vie en Rose is opening an outlet store in Yellowknife on December 4.

The new store will be located at 314 Old Airport Road in the former Reitmans location, which closed in January.

The company says it chose Yellowknife because of growing demand for more local shopping options and interest in bringing established retail brands to the North.

In a written statement to Cabin Radio, Manon Gagnon, vice-president of sales at La Vie en Rose, said the company saw an opportunity to reach northern customers who would otherwise have fewer options to shop for its products locally.

Unlike regular La Vie en Rose stores, which focus on the brand’s newest collections, outlet locations offer a selection of discounted merchandise.

Gagnon said the outlet format was chosen to offer customers more affordable options while introducing the brand to the Yellowknife market.
