Yellowknife RCMP say they have ended the search for a missing 70-year-old woman after she was found deceased.
On Monday, police asked the public for help locating Mary Broussard. RCMP said she was last seen at 2:30pm on Sunday near the Bristol Monument Park Loop.
In an update shortly before noon on Tuesday, RCMP said she had been found within the search area on Tuesday morning.
“The Yellowknife RCMP extends its condolences to the friends and family of the deceased,” a press release stated.
“The Yellowknife RCMP deeply appreciates the support and collaboration of our partner agencies and is grateful for the offers of assistance from members of the community.”
According to RCMP, the search involved drones, police dog services and ground searchers.
Police said no foul play is suspected in the death, which remains under investigation by police in partnership with the NWT Coroner Service.
