Police in Yellowknife have arrested and charged a man over a late-night armed robbery at the downtown Reddi Mart six months ago.
A cashier was forced to hand over money at gunpoint on the night of January 3, before the suspect fled on foot.
On Wednesday, almost half a year to the day after the incident, Yellowknife RCMP said they had arrested 34-year-old Andrew Jim Roberts of Thornhill, BC, in connection with the crime.
Roberts was arrested last week, following what RCMP termed an “in-depth investigation.”
He faces charges of robbery with a firearm, disguise with intent, carrying a weapon for a dangerous purpose, pointing a firearm, carrying a concealed weapon, and possessing a restricted firearm without a licence.
Roberts was due to make his second court appearance on Wednesday morning.
