RCMP in Yellowknife have charged a second person with murder after the death of a City Cab driver early on Monday.
The driver, identified locally as Ahmed Mahamud Ali, was discovered unconscious in his vehicle outside Stanton Territorial Hospital before being pronounced dead by hospital staff.
Police announced on Thursday they had charged James Schiller, a 49-year-old Yellowknife resident, with murder.
Elias Schiller, 18, was charged with murder earlier in the week. Though RCMP have not comment on any relation between the two, family acquaintances told Cabin Radio they believe the pair to be father and son.
“As the investigation unfolded a second person was identified as a suspect and subsequently charged,” said RCMP spokesperson Marie York-Condon.
“We do not anticipate further charges at this time.”
The investigation continues. Both Schillers are due in court on Friday.
