A deceased person found near the Frame Lake trail on Tuesday morning is 15-year-old Cassidy Giroux, police said.
Giroux was reported missing on Monday. She was last seen on the evening of Friday, April 26.
“At this time, although a postmortem examination has not yet been completed, investigators do not suspect any criminality is involved,” said Cst Heather Cosenzo, an RCMP spokesperson, in a news release on Tuesday afternoon.
Police said search and rescue teams had searched for the missing teenager late into the evening of Monday, resuming again on Tuesday.

At 9:15am, RCMP learned a search team had found a body between Matonabee St and Albatross St.
“Yellowknife RCMP are saddened to confirm that the decedent is Cassidy Giroux, of Yellowknife,” the news release stated.
An investigation continues.
“Our thoughts are with the family, friends, classmates, and all those affected during this difficult time,” RCMP said.
