Mike McEwen’s Saskatchewan posted a 7-0 victory over Jamie Koe’s rink on Friday evening to end the NWT’s extraordinary run at the 2024 Brier.
A day earlier, Koe had stolen the win against PEI to make the play-offs at the national men’s championship for only the second time in territorial history – his first play-off appearance since 2012.
Friday night’s result keeps Saskatchewan, this year’s host province, alive in the tournament.
The NWT and Manitoba’s Reid Carruthers, whose rink lost 6-2 to Matt Dunstone in an all-Manitoba clash, were each eliminated.
