Two people were killed on a Yellowknife residential street in the early hours of Saturday morning, police say.
According to RCMP, officers found one person dead on Bigelow Crescent and another “suffering serious injuries.”
“The injured person was transported to the Stanton Territorial Hospital for treatment and later died as a result of their injuries,” police stated in a Saturday news release.

No further information about those people or what happened to them has so far been made public. Police referred to the incident as a “double homicide.”
“This investigation in the early stages and residents can expect to see a significant police presence in the Bigelow Crescent and surrounding areas,” the news release continued.
“Anyone who lives on Bigelow Crescent or Williams Avenue that has surveillance or doorbell camera footage from this morning, between 2am and 4am, is asked to contact police.”
RCMP said they can provide memory sticks if people need to submit video files.
Anyone with any information about what happened is asked to call the Yellowknife detachment at 867-669-1111 or leave a tip online.
