Housing NWT will have a new president from next week and the Department of Environment and Climate Change will have a new deputy minister, Premier RJ Simpson announced on Friday.
In a news release, Simpson’s office said Eleanor Young would retire as Housing NWT’s president and be replaced by Erin Kelly, who moves across from ECC.
Robert Jenkins will take over from Kelly as ECC’s deputy minister.
The appointments take effect on Monday, November 25.
Simpson thanked Young for her “remarkable contributions to housing policy and program delivery.”
His office said Kelly’s experience and leadership would be “instrumental in advancing Housing NWT’s work, with housing remaining a top priority” for the territorial government.
Jenkins takes over as ECC’s senior unelected official having been the assistant deputy minister of energy and strategic initiatives at the Department of Infrastructure since 2020.
