Yellowknife’s first Still Dark Festival has released its schedule. Here’s our guide to what’s happening each day.
The NWT capital already has summer music festivals. Organizers say Still Dark is an attempt to fill a gap at the opposite end of the calendar and “celebrate the diverse community of Yellowknife in the deep dark of winter.”
Still Dark is the brainchild of Taylor Shephard and Brian Weadick, who have experience working on city events like Snowkings’ Winter Festival and Folk on the Rocks.

The festival’s inaugural edition runs from January 31 to February 2, 2025. Tickets are on sale via the festival’s website. A weekend pass costs just under $130 including tax and service fee, while a VIP pass costs just over $200 including a festival tee and an invite to Sunday’s Bluegrass Brunch.

On the festival’s Friday and Saturday nights, four venues will between them play host to more than 20 performances. (You can download a PDF of the evening schedule or view it below.)
There are also daytime events on Saturday and Sunday.
