Police in Inuvik say they are working on “any and all leads” with ground searches for missing Lance Briere having failed to find him so far.
The 32-year-old has reportedly not been seen since February 8. He was reported missing earlier this month and coordinated search efforts began a week ago.
RCMP have described him as “an Indigenous male, approximately 5 ft 9 in tall and weighing approximately 160 lbs.”
Police have said they think he is in possession of a black 900 Ace Ski-Doo Expedition LE and, while he has ties to the Yukon, police believe he is still in the NWT.
Providing more information in a Thursday news release, police said the last confirmed sighting of Briere was at Inuvik’s liquor store on February 8.
“He was reported to be wearing a green ‘highlighter’-coloured toque, reflective jacket, black ski pants and black boots,” police stated.
RCMP said on Thursday: “Efforts to locate Briere, including an extensive ground search, have thus far been negative. Inuvik detachment continues to investigate any and all leads on this matter.”
Anyone with information on his whereabouts is asked to contact the Inuvik detachment at 867-777-1111 or leave a message via Crime Stoppers.
