Applications are now being accepted for the Adam Yeadon Memorial Scholarship, which helps people studying in programs related to forestry or wildfire management.
The scholarship is named in memory of Adam Yeadon, a firefighter killed in 2023 while working on a fire near Fort Liard.

Two $5,000 scholarships are available to full-time post-secondary undergraduate or graduate students.
The deadline to apply is September 30. A list of what to send and where to send it is available on the GNWT’s website.
In a news release, environment minister Jay Macdonald said the territory was “proud to offer a scholarship to help encourage and support northern students who are interested in a career in forestry or wildfire management.”
A selection committee will screen applicants and award the scholarships. Only successful recipients will be notified.
