A man has passed away after a motorbike was involved in an incident on the Ingraham Trail north of Yellowknife, police have confirmed.

In a Monday news release, RCMP said officers received a report at 6:30pm on Friday, September 12 regarding an incident near the Prosperous Lake boat launch.

“Officers attended the location where bystanders were providing first aid to the rider of a motorcycle, which was the only involved vehicle,” police stated.

“First aid continued until paramedics arrived and transported the 35-year-old male victim to hospital with life-threatening injuries.

“Police received notification on September 13 that the victim had died in hospital.”

The Ingraham Trail was closed in the area for a time on Friday evening. RCMP said investigators were assessing the scene. The motorbike was the only vehicle involved.
