If you had it in your calendar for October 17, scratch that. The Pussycats Ball Cat Show has a new date: November 21.
The Yellowknife show, in its second year, was forced to reschedule for reasons that haven’t been specified.
It’ll now take place at the city’s Elks Lodge next month.
Organized by the Northern Mosaic Network, the evening raises funds for that organization – which supports queer and trans people across the territory – and the NWT SPCA.
The Northern Mosaic Network confirmed the new date in a Tuesday social media post.
The event – which cats can attend – offers games, a bingo and vendors selling cat-themed items. It runs alongside an online cute cat contest.
Prizes pledged for the second Pussycats Ball include treats, toys and gift packages from Borealis Pets, The Crooked Whisker and Yellowknife Books, with free grooms from Cheeky Chops for category winners.
The overall winner’s face will appear on the door of the city’s Bone and Biscuit pet emporium.
