GNWT invites applicants for $5K Indigenous language scholarships

The NWT government has opened applications for Indigenous language revitalization scholarships valued at $5,000 each.

Applicants must be NWT students enrolled for 2025-26 in “certificate, diploma or degree programs that support Indigenous language revitalization,” the GNWT stated in a news release.

Ten scholarships are available.

Priority will be given to NWT students enrolled in programs offered by accredited post-secondary institutions, the GNWT stated.

The deadline to apply is 5pm MT on December 1, 2025.
