Snowkings’ Winter Festival has drawn the winner of an early-bird prize worth $1,000 as its 2026 reverse raffle ramps up.

Organizers said Jennalee Domke won the prize, a gift card to Yellowknife store Overlander Sports.

Anyone who bought a reverse raffle ticket early was entered.

Just over 100 tickets remain for the raffle itself, organizers said on Saturday. The money raised goes toward the build of the annual Snowcastle on the frozen Yellowknife Bay.

Last year, the reverse raffle sold out. The grand prize this year is $5,000.

Each ticket gets the holder a daytime season pass for the 2026 Snowkings’ Winter Festival, which runs at the Snowcastle on the frozen Yellowknife Bay from March 1-28.

You need to be a Yellowknife resident and 19 or older to take part. You can purchase $100 tickets online until February 19.

Almost all tickets drawn in March eliminate their owners (with a few exceptions) until the last ticket remaining wins $5,000.

The grand prize draw date is March 21, 2026.
