NWT RCMP have confirmed their recently acquired tactical armoured vehicle featured in a search of a home in Fort Providence on Friday.
Police have said the 22,000-lb, $580,000 vehicle is designed to help officers get closer to the epicentre of incidents while being “protected from projectiles.”
Footage of the TAV alongside other RCMP vehicles was shared online on Friday.
So far, few details about the incident have been confirmed. A police spokesperson said more information will follow.
“The TAV was present in Fort Providence in support of the Emergency Response Team, who were assisting with a search warrant,” RCMP stated.

“No injuries were reported as a result of the operation. A press release will be following when we finalize the details.”
