Police in Yellowknife say they have charged an Alberta 40-year-old after a reported robbery at a gas station involving a replica pistol.
In a Friday news release, RCMP said officers were called to the Shell gas station on Range Lake Road just after midnight on Wednesday, June 10.
“The suspect was reported to have stolen a pack of cigarettes before fleeing on foot,” police stated.
“Police quickly identified the suspect and located him in a vehicle at a nearby parking lot, where he was arrested without incident. A replica pistol was recovered.”
RCMP named the accused as Jonathan Greene and said he is charged with robbery with a firearm and a range of other weapons-related offences.
He has been remanded into custody, police said.
