Amber alert extended into NWT for six-year-old reportedly abducted

Authorities extended an amber alert into the NWT on Thursday evening after a six-year-old was reportedly abducted from Beaverlodge, Alberta.

In an emergency alert sent to phones across the territory, police reported Lanakai Morrison was believed to have been taken from the community by mother Krista Morrison, 35.

The amber alert stated Krista may be with Daniel Ludwig, 35, and four-year-old Karl Morrison.

“Believed to be driving a 2006 red Ford F350, AB licence plate CXW8820 and travelling through northern BC and possibly into the NWT or the Yukon,” the alert stated.

“If seen, call 911 immediately. Do not attempt to approach or apprehend the suspect.”
