RCMP say they are investigating a fire at a Fort Smith home last week that police believe “may have been set intentionally.”
In a Monday news release, RCMP said officers were called to an Aurora Garden housing unit on Field Street at about 4am on July 9.
The front steps and front entry to the building were on fire, police said. Firefighters at the scene extinguished the fire and RCMP said the building – and adjacent units – were vacant at the time, with no injuries reported.
Police said an investigation is ongoing and asked any witnesses or anyone with video footage to contact the Fort Smith detachment at 867-872-1111 or leave a tip anonymously.
