Aysanabee, the Yellowknives Dene Drummers and Mae Martin closed out Yellowknife’s big summer music festival on Sunday despite the intervention of smoke for periods of the day.
The smoke began to clear as the evening wore on, improving the air quality for the headliners. Even a relatively smoky start to the day hadn’t deterred performers and festivalgoers across Folk on the Rocks’ five stages.

“It is so good to be here. I have been wanting to come here for the last three years,” Aysanabee told Sunday night’s crowd.
“Everyone’s been so kind and so welcoming.”
Here are some of our favourite photos from the day.
