YWCA NWT will hold a family-friendly celebration of its 60th anniversary in September, the organization announced this week.
From 12-4pm on Saturday, September 12, a free event at Yellowknife’s Mildred Hall School will feature a barbecue, face painting, bouncy castles and live music.
Performers include Miranda Currie, Peekaboo Kazoo and Tanya Snow.
“Reaching our 60th anniversary is an extraordinary milestone and a testament to the resilience of our organization and the strength of our communities,” executive director Hawa Dumbuya-Sesay was quoted as saying in a news release.
“We remain committed to building on that legacy through innovation, collaboration, reconciliation, and continued service to communities across the Northwest Territories.”
