Norman Wells RCMP say they have arrested and charged a Fort Good Hope woman “known to be involved in the drug trade” after finding 437 grams of suspected crack-cocaine.
According to a Monday news release, RCMP were told on July 31 that the individual was travelling through Norman Wells to Fort Good Hope “under suspicious circumstances.”
Police said they located Marie Erutse, detained her and found and seized a “significant quantity” of suspected crack-cocaine and other drug paraphernalia.
RCMP charged Erutse with trafficking a controlled substance; possessing a controlled substance; possessing a controlled substance for the purposes of trafficking; possessing property obtained by crime under $5,000; and opening, consuming or using liquor during transit.
RCMP said Erutse appeared in court for a bail hearing on the charges and was remanded into custody. They did not say when she will appear in court next.

Police previously charged Erutse in April 2025 with possessing a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking after seizing 261 grams of crack-cocaine at Fort Good Hope’s airport. She is next set to appear in Territorial Court in Fort Good Hope on that charge on August 17.
