Driver has ‘minor injuries’ after Ingraham Trail crash, police say

Yellowknife RCMP say a driver escaped with minor injuries following a Monday crash that left their truck at the foot of an Ingraham Trail embankment.

According to police, officers were called to the scene – a couple of kilometres into the trail, otherwise known as Highway 4, just north of Yellowknife – shortly before 6:30am.

A badly damaged truck could be found at the bottom of a relatively steep incline next to a corner.

“Officers, including a remote piloted aircraft operator attended the scene. The driver of the vehicle was reported to have sustained minor injuries and was transported to hospital,” RCMP stated.

Police described the incident as a single vehicle collision, meaning only the truck is believed to have been involved.

The vehicle was still off the road as of Monday afternoon, with police tape strapped across it.

“The investigation remains ongoing and no charges have been laid at this time,” RCMP added.

The City of Yellowknife’s fire division has also been approached for information.
