The Dene Nation says its annual assembly will now take place from September 29-October 1, 2026, bringing it forward by a week from dates announced a week ago.
The Kátł’odeeche First Nation remains the host community.
Last week, the Dene Nation announced the assembly, originally set to take place in Fort Simpson in August, had moved to Kátł’odeeche First Nation and would run from October 6-8.
A news release on Wednesday this week moved the dates again.
“The revised dates were set in consultation with the Chief and Council of Kátt’odeeche First Nation to ensure the fullest possible participation of Dene leadership,” the Dene Nation stated in that news release.
