Police in Yellowknife say people from Alberta and the Sahtu face drugs charges after an apartment on the city’s 52 Avenue was the subject of a search on Tuesday.
In a Wednesday news release, RCMP said more than $34,000 in cash and just over 50 grams of suspected crack cocaine were found after officers received a tip-off.
Two 28-year-olds – Natnael Gebrehiwot Afeworki of Calgary and Skylynn Cook of Fort Good Hope – were charge with trafficking-related offences and possession of property obtained by crime, police stated.
Both are in custody, Wednesday’s news release added.
