Residents in Norman Wells said cell service had returned to the Sahtu community on Tuesday evening, several days after it disappeared.
Two residents told Cabin Radio their ability to make cellular calls and use data had been restored by 7pm.
The service went down over the past weekend.
Bell, which owns the cell infrastructure in the community, acknowledged the issue on Monday and said a contractor was on site trying to fix the problem. The company gave no specifics about what had gone wrong.
In a series of public statements on Tuesday, the Town of Norman Wells said it had contacted Northwestel president Curtis Shaw about the disruption to cell service.

Northwestel’s core business is internet, television and landlines rather than cell service, but the company is a Bell subsidiary.
“We have heard from Mr Shaw regarding the present outage. There is a failed piece of equipment that Bell Mobility is working to send to Norman Wells,” the town reported earlier on Tuesday.
At the time, the town said it had been told “the issue should be rectified by day’s end.”
According to the town, Shaw had promised to investigate why the problem arose.
