An Edmonton 25-year-old has been charged with murder after shots were fired on Inuvik’s Bompas Street early on Monday morning, RCMP say.
A man was pronounced dead at the town’s hospital following the shooting. The victim has not yet been publicly identified.
Police arrested four suspects in the aftermath. The other three have been released without charge, RCMP said in a Thursday update.
The man accused of murder, Joshua Rath, is also charged with two counts of discharging a firearm with intent.
Police said he remains in custody and will next appear in Territorial Court on October 14.
