If you’ve ever grumbled at the Folk on the Rocks lineup, time to put your music taste where your mouth is. The festival selections committee has openings.
Folk is Yellowknife’s major summer music festival. The selection committee provides advice to the festival’s artistic director when devising each year’s lineup.
There are three vacancies on the committee. You have until 11pm MT on October 16, 2026 to apply.
The festival says it is looking for “forward-thinking, solution-oriented and dynamic” applicants. Terms are one year long.
Meetings, ordinarily on Sunday afternoons, start in November and take place at least once a month, with two in February as decisions are finalized.

Organizers say the commitment is approximately one to two hours a week.
