Members of Hay River’s Rowe family say they’re opening a Subway in the town’s Wright Centre.
A Tuesday announcement stated Terry, Ryan and Curtis Rowe are “hard at work with construction under way” on a Subway franchise in the downtown building.
Their announcement noted it will be “just steps from Diamond Jenness Secondary School.”
So far, there’s no opening date.
By phone, Terry Rowe told Cabin Radio the family wanted to confirm the impending arrival of a Subway given there were already “some rumblings” in the NWT town, which has a population of just over 3,000.
“We’re really excited and looking forward to serving Hay River some delicious sandwiches and food,” he said. “It’s delicious food. It’s consistent. It’s a national brand.”
