Yellowknife RCMP say they’ve arrested a 38-year-old man believed to be responsible for a series of vehicle break-ins in the city’s Niven neighbourhood.
In a Friday news release, police said a “report made by a vigilant member of the community” led officers to Niven Drive late on Wednesday evening.
RCMP said Cody Peter was arrested at the scene. An active warrant already existed for Peter’s arrest, police stated, and a search uncovered “break-in tools and items consistent with the break-ins.”
Peter is charged with 12 crimes, including three counts of theft and two of possessing stolen property.
