Crews extinguished an "incredibly irresponsible" abandoned campfire near Cameron River Crossing Territorial Park. A fire near Fort Simpson is now under control.

NWT Fire said water tankers completed an "aggressive initial attack" on a new wildfire 22 km northwest of Fort Simpson. Three other fires of note are burning.
The NWT's education minister says an independent investigation will examine "serious concerns" about the running of schools in the Dehcho region.
Three new fires were spotted in the Dehcho region and one in the North Slave region on Wednesday. Only one poses a risk to any infrastructure, NWT Fire said.
The NWT government said flood risk has passed for Aklavik and breakup is progressing in the lowest sections of the Beaufort Delts.
NWT Fire reported one new wildfire burning 15 km south of the Ingraham Trail and 28 km east of Dettah. It is not threatening communities or infrastructure.
