Yellowknife’s firefighters were responding to their second significant report of a fire in 24 hours on Friday afternoon.

Two engines were at the scene on Hall Crescent shortly before 5pm.

The City of Yellowknife confirmed emergency crews had been called to a reported fire but no further information was currently available.

Municipal enforcement officers had blocked off the road and were not able to provide any details regarding the incident.

Neither smoke nor flames were immediately visible at the scene.

An earlier fire, overnight, saw a garage and part of a house on Gold City Court engulfed in flames.

A GoFundMe page has since been created for the family said to have been affected by that fire, the cause of which is under investigation.
