The Gwich’in Tribal Council is organizing a gospel music tour featuring two singers who will perform in multiple communities later this month.
In an announcement last week, the GTC said Yvonne St Germaine, a Métis singer from Saskatoon, and First Nations singer Ivan Chartrand are expected to perform Christian music for residents during the Easter weekend.
The performances are free to attend.
The two will play Aklavik’s Sittichinli Recreational Complex on March 28, Fort McPherson’s community hall on March 29 and Inuvik’s Midnight Sun Complex on March 30.
Although the tour won’t reach Tsiigehtchic, the GTC said it will arrange a free bus service to bring residents to the show in Fort McPherson.
