The Hamlet of Aklavik says its water treatment plant is “up and running” but residents should continue to conserve water until the plant catches up.
On Tuesday morning, the hamlet asked residents to conserve water due to issues at its water treatment plant.
The hamlet said staff from the Town of Inuvik would be travelling to Aklavik to assist with the issue.
In an update to Facebook on Tuesday evening, the hamlet said the water plant was running and the water truck had begun delivering water to residential units.
The hamlet said offices and Moose Kerr School which were closed to help conserve water would reopen on Thursday.
