Terence Courtoreille, who had been leading a financial sustainability review into the NWT’s healthcare system, is taking over as president of the territory’s public housing agency.
Courtoreille started work as Housing NWT’s president on Monday, the NWT government said in a news release.
Former president Erin Kelly, who had held the role since late 2024, is “on approved leave,” the territory stated without elaborating.
Courtoreille was until recently the associate deputy minister of healthcare system sustainability, an initiative set up by the GNWT to try to control the growth of costs associated with northern healthcare. How he will be replaced on that team was not specified.
Housing NWT’s president leads the territorial government’s approach to how housing options are provided, including a push to make housing easier to access and more affordable. The agency is also trying to work more closely with Indigenous governments.
Courtoreille “brings strong experience in public-sector financial management, system-wide review and operational sustainability,” Premier RJ Simpson was quoted as saying.
“That background will support Housing NWT as it continues to deliver major capital projects, modernize programs, and make housing programs and services more responsive to the needs of residents and communities.”
