The NWT’s Ekati diamond mine is heading into receivership after its owner ran out of a money. A $300 million-plus remediation of the mine is about to begin. We want to hear your memories.

If you’re still employed at the mine or you worked there in the past, use the form below to tell us about your time there and send us photos and video.

The mine has been through difficult times, and we’re actively following up on the concerns of workers and their families with a final round of layoffs now imminent. Recent years have been hard.

However, the mine was also a beacon of economic prosperity for many years, arriving at a time when diamonds were a lifeline for the NWT as income from gold waned.

We want to hear about your personal experience of life at the mine.
